Complaints are often the result of opposing viewpoints, unfamiliarity with police procedures, or misinterpretations of constitutional rights and other laws. In those situations, the employee’s supervisor can provide valuable information that may ease your concerns or resolve the matter entirely. If you wish to continue with the formal complaint, please try to recall the specific details of the incident you are reporting and note them in your complaint. Do not attempt to decide for yourself what is or is not relevant to an investigation.
Once a complaint is received, the following procedure is followed:
1. The complaint is forwarded to the Internal Affairs Division and the Administrative Charging Committee for Prince Prince George's County.2. You will receive a letter or email acknowledging receipt of your complaint.3. The Department will investigate your complaint and forward its findings to the Administrative Charging Committee to determine discipline.4. You will be notified of the results of the investigation.
